Celebrating 200 Years of Kentville

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Kentville's 200th Anniversary celebrations. 

In April 1826, the inhabitants of Horton Corner came together at a public meeting and formally resolved that their growing village would be known as Kentville. Two centuries later, we are proud to celebrate 200 years of growth as a vibrant town and a welcoming community. 

To mark this milestone, we are excited to share some of the key anniversary events planned throughout the year:

• Summer Garden Contest "200 Years of Growing", including awards
• Free Public Swim Celebration
• Children's Drawing Contest
• Community-Inspired Cookbook Launch
• Harvest Festival "Back to 1826", featuring hands-on historical activities
• Municipal Awareness Week, with open municipal facilities and meet-and-greet with Council and staff
• Kentville's 140th birthday party, complete with cake
