Downtown Kentville

Downtown Kentville

It’s all…downtown.

The heart and soul of Kentville is also a bright beacon that advertises to residents, visitors, and businesses alike—this is a warm, fun, and dynamic community. Downtown Kentville invites people, by its very nature, to explore, experience, and enjoy!

Human-scaled delight

Downtown is a pleasantly compact, walkable place, with wide sidewalks and lots of free parking. It’s a wonderful place to be effortlessly active and get things accomplished—but it’s also a sanctuary for folks looking to spend some downtime. Plenty of convenient benches, three welcoming downtown green spaces, a protected wetland habitat, and of course specialty shops, cafés, and service businesses all encourage people to stay awhile.

Diverse urban culture

Downtown Kentville has earned its reputation for a warm “café culture”. At any given time during a business day, downtown cafes and pubs are packed with people doing business as much as people who are there for leisure. Meet up with friends. Hang with the family. Take a moment for yourself. Because you can.

A bite or two

Kentville has eight restaurants, cafes, pubs, and coffee shops in a compact one block span. On Wednesdays, the offering expands significantly as the Kentville Farmers’ Market sets up from 10am until 2pm in Centre Square. Visitors to Kentville especially appreciate the availability of organic, local, fair trade, vegan, gluten-free, and other specialty products found on the menus in Kentville.

Business perks

We’re always looking for ways to improve the downtown experience! The Kentville Business Community even offers a Facade Improvement Program for eligible businesses, which will match investment dollars up to $5,000.00.  Everyone - property owners, the Town, and KBC - works together to keep downtown Kentville beautiful!
