Winter Parking Ban in Effect

The Town of Kentville wishes to remind residents that winter parking regulations are in effect beginning on December 1, 2023, and will remain in effect until April 15th 2024.  

Effective December 1, 2023 and until April 15, 2024 Regulations made by the Traffic Authority for the Town of Kentville Pursuant to Section 202(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act R.S.N.S., 1990 Chapter 293

No person shall park upon any highway or street, in the Town of Kentville, between hours of one am (01:00) and seven am (07:00) of the same day:

No owner or driver or person having control or custody of an vehicle shall park the vehicle if it is unattended by a person authorized to move or capable of operating the same, upon any highway or street in the Town of Kentville, in such a manner as to hinder, inconvenience or prevent the proper removal of snow or ice from such highway or street.

No owner or driver or person having control of any vehicle shall, during the period from one hour after any snow storm has commenced to two hours after such snow storm has stopped, park the vehicle if it is unattended by a person authorized to move or capable of operating the same, upon any highway or street in the Town of Kentville.

The provisions of Subsection 2 shall not apply to emergency vehicles.

It shall be an offence for any person to fail to comply with these resolutions and such person will be liable to a penalty provided by Section 292 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
