The Parks and Recreation Department’s main functions are to maintain and operate all sport, recreation and cultural facilities, all parks, green spaces and flowers, to organize special events and promotions and administer programming for the community.
In addition to the primary services provided through the department P&R is responsible for working with volunteer organizations and service groups to extend both broad based and specific recreation services to the community.

Administration
The daily administration, planning for the department, annual capital projects and operation budgets are administered by full time staff. Service levels and policy development is directed by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Offices for the Parks and Recreation Department are anchored out of Town Hall, 354 Main Street, Kentville.
