Pumpkin People Festival, "Heroes vs Villians" October 1st - 25th in Kentville.

Calling all Heroes!!!!

Rumors have been circulating for weeks that Villains from all over the world have been plotting an invasion of Kentville to take place during the month of October, in an attempt to ruin Kentville’s 125th anniversary year! The Town of Kentville issued a formal request for assistance from the World Protection Agency of Super Heroes and has received confirmation that they will be sending help. It is expected that over 300 heroes and villains will be battling all over Kentville by October 1st!

Despite the imminent threat, Town officials are encouraging visitors and residents to continue normal activity. We invite you and your family to visit us and bear witness to all the exciting action! We will kick off the Festival with the Harvest Fest on October 1st in Centre Square, and Pumpkin People “Heroes vs Villains” will be on display until October 25th. Kentville is celebrating 125 years of Incorporation in 2011! That gives us just one more big reason to come out and have a great time kicking off the Pumpkin People Festival at Harvest Fest 2011! So many activities are planned for the Saturday Kick-off. Hay wagon rides, live music all day, candy scramble, free face painting and a bounce tent, pumpkin carving contests, amazing race around Kentville, a bigger and better Farmers Market and much more are planned for the day. Come help Kentville celebrate 125 years. We’ll see you there!

The Town of Kentville encourages all residents and businesses to add to the 300 Pumpkin People erected by the Town by participating in the PUMPKIN PEOPLE DISPLAY CHALLENGE! Prizes are awarded for the Most Artistic, Most Original and Most Humorous displays. Prizes include gifts from local businesses, gift cards, award plaques and recognition at Town Council! See below documents and details on how to enter. Contest is open to Kentville residents and businesses.

Spike the Pumpkin Person
The Town of Kentville has a new Mascot! Spike the Pumpkin Person has come to life and is causing a stir all over Town! If you see him, make sure to wave and say hello. He loves people, especially children, and really likes to dance! Look for Spike at this year's Harvest Festival Celebration and at other events all over the Valley.
