Kentville Harvest Festival

Kentville not only celebrates the beginning of the harvest season, but also the end. The annual Kentville Harvest Festival is held at the beginning of each October and welcomes not only the world famous Pumpkin People but also thousands of visitors who make the town a destination point during their autumn tour of the province.

This year’s Harvest Festival Kick-off will take place in Centre Square on Saturday October 1st from 10:00am - 2:00pm. Many activities are planned for the Saturday Kick-off.  Hay wagon rides, live music all day, a ball hockey skills competition, candy scramble, free face painting and a bounce tent, pumpkin carving contest, amazing race around Kentville, a bigger and better Farmers Market and much more are planned for the day.  Keep your eye on the website for an official schedule of events coming soon!  Come help Kentville celebrate Harvest Fest at the Kick-off on Saturday October 1st, and don’t forget to visit the Pumpkin People when they arrive!

New children’s book available features Kentville’s “Pumpkin People”.
Canadian children’s book authors Ron and Sandra Lightburn capture the true spirit of the fun figures that mysteriously appear in Kentville every year at harvest time in their new book Pumpkin People.  The book officially launched at the Kings Courthouse museum on Oct 4th as part of Harvest Festival celebrations in 2008.
