Each spring, municipal governments review and pass their budgets for the upcoming year.  On April 11, 2022, Kentville town Council will receive a presentation from Director of Finance Debra Crowell on the details of the operating budget.  Council will discuss the budget and can approve it at this meeting.  This meeting will take place in Town Hall and is open to the public and is live streamed on our Facebook page.  Please let us know if you plan to attend by contacting Jennifer West, jwest@kentville.ca or 902-679-2503.

The agenda for this meeting can be viewed here.

This Council Advisory Committee (CAC) consists of department heads and council and is a means for staff to share their work and their advice with council. Although this committee does not include members of the public, it meets in a public forum at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in Council Chambers at Town Hall.  All council meetings and council meeting highlights are available on the town's YouTube channel.

Both the CAC and council meetings are open to the public, either live at Town Hall or online using Facebook Live.  Following public health measures, members of the public who wish to attend in person will need to register to attend, by emailing jwest@kentville.ca (902-679-2503).  Seating will be arranged so that guests will be socially distanced.

Short Track racing is a fast paced event where riders take to the trails and try to complete as many laps of the course as possible before their time is up! With categories for ages 7 and up, this is a great introduction to mountain bike racing and excellent spring training for experienced rides too!

This event is a fundraiser for the Kentville Canada Cup (August 13-14) and all proceeds support the event and your local trails.

Our planet is an amazing place, but it needs our help to thrive! Join us for a walk in Miner’s Marsh and along the Harvest Moon Trail where we will take in the beauty of the river, farmland, and our community while discussing the impact of climate change and how we can become environmental champions.

If you can't take part, we encourage you to try activities like picking up litter and planting trees, and reducing energy and water consumption to help make our world, and specifically our community, a happier, healthier place to live.

Everyone is welcome. Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Please dress for the weather!

Pre-Registration encouraged. To register contact Ashley Brooker at abrooker@countyofkings.ca or 902-690-6190.

Participants are asked to respect social distancing.

Kentville residents elect six councillors and the mayor every four years during municipal elections. This team meets each month during the Council Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting with directors to understand town operations, and to receive recommendations from staff.  During council meetings at the end of each month, council considers these and other recommendations and makes decisions in the best interest of the town. Both the CAC and council meetings are open to the public, either live at Town Hall or online using Facebook Live.  All council meetings and council meeting highlights are available on the town's YouTube channel.

This meeting will be preceeded by a Special Meeting of Council to present the 2022-2023 Capital Plan.

Here is the agenda for both meetings.

Spring is on the way, we are back, and ready to roll with the 2022 Great Big K-Town Clean-up!

Great Big K Town Clean Up 2022

Kentville is jam packed with caring people who like to get outside and lend a hand. We think that's awesome. Want to help us spiffy up the town before the leaves bud out and flowers start popping? We'd love to have you!

Meet up with town staff and fellow community volunteers all working together. Supplies will be provided including bags and gloves. Give whatever time you have, short or long.  Any and all help is welcomed and appreciated. We will have a great time making new connections while we work, and have a few prizes to distribute to our helpers, too.

We are fun people, and we hope you will join us! Meet at Centre Square for supply pick up.
