Princess Kentville

Each year a young woman from the community is chosen to represent the Town as Princess Kentville at the Apple Blossom Festival and throughout the year. The chosen candidate will receive accommodations at the Old Orchard Inn for the duration of the Festival along with the opportunity to compete for the title of Queen Annapolisa. Additionally, Princess Kentville will receive a bursary from the Town, and have the opportunity to travel the Valley attending special events and functions for the duration of the year as an ambassador of Kentville.

Selection Process:

All candidates for Princess Kentville must be between the ages of 18 and 23 and live in the Town of Kentville. Each candidate will be interviewed by a panel of judges, will give a speech, and answer an impromptu question at the Princess Kentville Tea. The judges will score each candidate based on their interview, speech and response to the impromptu question to determine who will be chosen as Princess Kentville. All of the judges will be from outside the Town of Kentville.

Princess Kentville 2011 - Brianna P. Vaughan

Brianna Vaughan is the 19 year old daughter of Sam Vaughan and Emma Giffin. Brianna is a second year student at Acadia University where she is studying Chemistry, working towards a Bachelor of Science. Brianna is a proud recipient of the Scholarship of Excellence Award from Acadia University. Brianna enjoys practicing figure skating, and attended Star Skate Nationals in Fredericton, New Brunswick in April of 2009. Brianna was also a member of the AtlantICE Synchronized Skating Team and competed at Nationals with that team twice. Brianna spent two years as a volunteer coach for Can Skate, teaching young children the fundamentals of skating. Brianna has been looking forward to the opportunity to become Princess Kentville ever since she can remember. The Town will be proud to have Brianna as a representative at the 79th Apple Blossom Festival and wishes her all the best of luck!
